Best daddy ever

Right from beginning... from you babies´ first breathe, daddy takes over every necessary nursery. He is bathing you, carrying you around day and night, gets up in the night when you cry, changes the nappies and never ever says anything about the smell. He plays with you, feeds Max after we stopped breastfeeding, goes for walks and the list could go on and on.

I got to know daddy when we were really, really young. In those days I already thought about the time when we would be a family. And I can definitely say that I imagined that he would be a father like he became and is.

So we can say: he is just the best. Although mama is sometimes grumbling that he is not doing right this and that... there is actually no reason to do so. But we won´t tell him ;-)

This evenig he bathed you once more and because of that I decided that this post will be dedicated to the love between daddy, Max and Lina! 

Oh, how I love seeing my two men having fun, laughing and kissing!

We never have any discussion about the fact that daddy is doing the evening ritual with us. He is always going with you, Max... feeding, bathing, cultivating, bringing you to bed and reading the bedtime story. Not uncommon he is caring for you, Lina too... mostly while mama is posting ;-)

It´s the biggest delight to observe you all  interacting with each other.  And I love to notice that he is not only doing it because of duty but because he loves you kids more than words can say!

It´s the greatest happiness to have you for husband and father! I love you! And I love you because you love us!

Shopping, shopping, shopping

Sometimes it´s simply necessary to bring variety to the everyday life. When this time comes I go shopping. To do this with two little ones is a challange. My babies are not difficult to handle but nevertheless you don´t have free hands to buy and carry!

We had luck, omi went with us again. It´s such a pleasure to go with her.  First we bought cookies and then straight to the bookstore. Max loves going there...again and again! 

Lot of persuasiveness was required to bring Max to a shoe store. Omi bought beautiful new shoes for him and he really liked them. So we went home to have a relaxed evening together playing and eating!

Miss L. was completely laid-back today. She didn´t sleep a lot but anyhow  had good mood. Too gorgeous my girl!

Max was very tired after lots of walking and shopping but had best mood too.  My boy is so wonderful!

Incredible... both kids were very tired but not challenging at all. Too good to be true...

Favorite toys 

It´s hard to believe but Miss L. has special playthings she really, really prefers. She is biting, slobbering and laughing out loud then! There is her pink, colorful frog, her elephant teether, her rattle she got from Max and her butterfly!

I love her watching while playing! It´s so cute! She has a lot of patience.  Rolling about the carpet, the activity center or in her playpen... Miss L. deals herself and just waits for mama coming around!

Reading lesson

I could take pictures of Max while reading every single day. This is his activity now. He loves when mama, papa, omi or opi are telling stories, he loves the pictures... reading the texts is boring for him!

He is very concentrated then and can become a bit grumpy too when nobody has time to sit beside him!

Today omi was at our place for hours. They spent lots of time reading, especially about animals. Max knows every single one in english too. This is so lovely! The game is: they are searching for an animal in the book and then Max is looking for the appropriate one from his plastic things!

Career aspirations

My husband loves watching winter sports on tv. Ski jumping is one of his favorites. And so is Max´.

But today afternoon when there was another competition going on my boy decided to start the training because he told us he wants to become a jumper himself. 

Opi came over for a visit and they two were hopping across the living room like crazy. Max was already sweating but he didn´t want to stop.  He is never playing wildly so I was rather surprised he wanted to jump on and on. We were a bit nervous that he would hurt by reason of doing this for hundreds of times. So opi told him he was his chief trainer and he had to follow the instructions: "Sit down, rest a bit, close your eyes and breathe deeply!" He did... for half a second! Then he continued...

Whatever you decide to do in your life... I will support you! I love you, Honey!

Stranger anxiety

My Miss L. became fearful of many other people for several weeks now.  Although we meet, for example, the great-grandparents very often she is crying or whimpering nearly every time. When mama is sitting beside and talking to her, Lina is calm. But woe she is out of sight she becomes tense at once.

Then my princess starts to cry heartbreaking! This time she needed really long to be eased again. Seemed like my girl was offended that mama gave her away! Poor sweetheart!

027/366 - 27. January 2012

The new bed

Today was the day my boy got his toddler bed. No more sleeping in the crib... the nap was the last time in the cot.  I can´t believe he is so mature already! When we began to convert the crib to a bed he noticed that there was something special going on.

We told him that he will sleep in an "adult bed" tonight.... and I swear I recognized a lot of pride in his eyes! He couldn´t wait to step inside and being covered. Too awesome!

Tomorrow I´m going to tidy up the room and decorate it newly because it was too late this evening. But nevertheless I had to take a picture of the moment he was in his grown up bed the first time! 

Honey... even though you are really a tall boy and of course no more baby I have to say: You will be my Baby forever! I love you!

Model type

I dressed Miss L. in the cutest tutu today. I couldn´t stand to buy lots of these charming clothes. Maybe because I always wanted to have such? Maybe.

I have the habit to take a pic of every outfit... from Max and Lina. Of course my children don´t like this each time! Sometimes they don´t pose like I want, Max can run away, Lina can be grumpy... but today she was only... bored!

The 5th month anniversary

It´s just incredible but true... my little cutie has 5 months full today! When I looked at her today,  the day from her birth came to my mind again and again. I remember like it was yesterday. Her birth was short but intense! Such a delight to have my girl in my arms!

During the last 5 months we enjoyed a lot. Lot of firsts, wonderful christmas and new year´s eve with the increased family, Max´ 2nd birthday and much more...

It´s hard to believe how many progresses a baby makes within months or even days.  She arrived, totally newborn and depending on mama... now she Lina a funny, entertaining and relaxed little lady!

My girl... you get cuter every single day... it´s dreamlike! I love you

Miss L. loves to observe her big brother while he is playing, talking, shouting, singing, dancing, crying and I have the real feeling she totally empathizes with him. I love this love between the siblings! 

To celebrate the day daddy bought wonderful, fresh donuts for us! Max is a sweetie like we all are ;-)... means he would do a lot for sweets!

And because of the fact that he wants to manage everything on his own, he ate the donut allone! I could eat him... that was too lovely!

Shopping

In the morning I kept my promise and went for a walk with my darlings. The weather was great, the sun was shining and it was not cold at all. Great fun indeed!

After having a comfortable afternoon playing together we decided to go shopping. Normally it´s very exhausting to go with the two little ones in a shopping mall but today we took grandfather with us. This meant a big relief! 

Fortunately we didn´t have to buy foodstuff. We went to the bookstore and had a nice time there. Max loves watching at the books... especially the ones with cars, tractos, planes and all other vehicles. Too cute! 

Lina didn´t want to sleep so she had great fun with mama`s very best friend. She laughed at her and auntie entertained her while mama tried to take a pic which developed difficult... bad light, wrong camera!

So the pics of the day aren´t the best of all but nevertheless I like them... my boy looks adorable, my girl laughs too sweet and mama´s friend is there too... at least a little bit to see!

This is a good opportunity to tell our "auntie" that we love her very much!

Going for a walk 

One reason why the cold outside is getting on my nerves is the fact that I have to dress the children in warm clothing. The children hate it... and me too. I should go for a walk every day but I cannot bring myself to go out. I´m lucky to have the grandparents as neighbor. They take my little boy when I´m too lazy.

But the problem is that Lina has to breathe some fresh air as well. So... without much thought... I took my thick jacket, dressed Max and Lina today and we started.

It is so exhausting!  Max doesn´t want to wait because he feels hot, Lina doesn´t want to wait in her pram because she feels hot. That´s the reason I have to dress first not to overburden the sweeties. 

So... I´m sweating like crazy... my fate!

When we are on the way I love it... really! It is so wonderful to watch my boy observing and discovering every minor detail. He has an endurance that is remarkable. His little feet can go very far!

The picture of the day is so cute! Like once mentioned he hates gloves. So he puts his little hands in his pockets or changes the holding hand himself when it is cooled.

My princess falls asleep at the time the pram is moving and swinging. She loves that!

My darlings... I decided today to go regularly from now on! My resolution of the day!

My butterflies

The most difficult thing for me is to decide which pic of the day to take!?

My children are so endlessly beautiful to me. During pregnancy I always wanted to know how my baby will look like... I think every expecting mother does. When I was expecting my sweet boy I couldn´t imagine how it will feel holding the tiny baby in my arms. I will never forget the moment I saw Max´ face the first time. From this moment on he is the most adorable boy to me! His appearance, his character, his behaviour... all in all he is perfect! 

I have tons of close-ups because I am totally in love with his look! The big, blue eyes... always longing to know, sweet tip of the nose and wonderful red lips.... I could kiss him all day long!

The second pregnancy was completely different to the first one. Simply because of the fact I had a baby boy to care for. So everything was a bit more exhausting and time went twice as fast.

But happily I felt the same love for my unborn from the first second on! I was really afraid that this would not be like this... up to this point my boy was the center of my world!

When I knew we would get a tiny babygirl I was incredibly blessed. Of course I started shopping girlish stuff at once. I didn´t want her to wear boy´s clothes only. She should be a bit princess-styled...Like: clothes make the woman? I`m sure I buy too much outfits but dressing my Miss L. is a bit like a puppet play! Yes, I confess!

But... today... when I bathed her and gave her the daily massage, I looked at her and determined that she is most enchanting without any clothes. Velvety skin, heavenly face -oh how I admire her eyelashes-  cute, cute belly button and everything else is simply adorable!

Daily bath

We are taking a bath every day! Thank God my kids love it! When Max was born I started to bring him in contact with water as early as possible. I´m very much afraid of water and I didn´t want my children to feel this way! So I was never excessively careful water flowing over their face. 

I think because of this we have no troubles washing the face or the hair. 

This evening he wanted to remember the feeling sitting in his tub. I couln´t believe how tall he is. When he was born he was sooo tiny I had to fill the tub completely and you only could see protruding his little tip of the nose!

My boy... I could melt when I see you smile!  I love you, darling!

Miss L. loves bathing like her brother does. She is sitting in her tummy tub and enjoys the warm water. Max always helps to wash her. Water everywhere... over her and a bit on the floor :-) 

This is so cute! My princess... she already sits alone in her bathing bucket... incredible!

Dreamlike day at the sea! 

Given the fact that we don´t really admire our cold and unfriendly winter days we decided without further ado to leave our bleak weather and to go south. Italy... we are coming!

It is an old custom for us to go to Italy before springtime to soak up some sun. The beach is approximately 180km away but is much warmer than in Austria. That´s worth the trip! 

Arrived, we strolled about 3hours along the beach and felt sooo comfortable. Lina was sleeping like an angel and our good Max was driving his loved motorcycle. It was actually very relaxing for us! 

Incomprehensible... he is a toddler! No more baby in a pram. Max was driving, walking and observing the ships on the sea.... totally in his world. In between times he was checking if we were near and watching him. He was satisfied and went on. 

Our princess was perfectly balanced... slept, breastfeeded, took some cuddles and kisses, slept... and so on and on.

When we came home late in the evening our cuties were so exhausted, took a shower and fell asleep at once. 

Thank you darlings for this magnificent day! Mama loves you both more than words can say!

Thank God it is snowing!

It was snowing the whole morning! My little boy Max was so excited and so he went for a walk with his daddy this afternoon. They took the slide and strolled around to the football field, the tractor and the fire department.

Everything seems so quiet while snowing! It is not much fun for daddy to shovel the snow away but of course our sweet boy loves it!

It is so cute when Max is fascinated by something! Then he is nearly staring and there is no move on his face! I love it!

Mama had to take a short nap because she felt dog-tired today. Lina is breastfeeding continually and this is indeed very exhausting! I think you have a growth spurt again! My big-little girl!

Great day is planned for tomorrow so mama has to prepare some stuff!

My sweet darling Max!

Today we played a lot together.  One of your favorites is reading books. When you were about 1,5 mama was a bit desperate because you didn´t show any interest in reading. We bought lots of books but you only took a short look and turned immediately to other toys. 

Quite different now... you would prefer if mama or papa would read aloud all the time. 

Of course there are some favorite books... about tractors, cars and animals. But your one and only is the story about a little boy called "Leon". He is veeery defiant and despairs his mother while telling unceasingly:"No...I don´t want to..."! You are reasonable that this is bad behaviour. You always tell Leon:"No, no!"

Oh my sweet toddler... one day I will tell you about situations you were this little Leon!

My adorable little Lina!

Sometimes you are playing on your own with an astonishing endurance that fascinates me. Although you are only 5 months you are such a patient girl. You are waiting in the playpen until mama gets you out!

And because of this I put you on a blanket now to have you near me in the kitchen while cooking or cleaning up. Otherwise mama has a bad conscience when you are waiting for so long uncomplaining! You start to call... yes call... not cry! only when there comes up starvation or you have a wet diaper! 

So Max can join you on the play mat! This means lots of fun for you both!

We had such a great day together, I love you my sweethearts!

Another comfy day at home! 

In the morning while your little sister took a nap we both were sticking pictures into your photo album.

You love this so much! You put the tapes on the pics and mama arranges them. The most important thing is: mama has to tell a very detailed story concerning the photo! It´s fascinating how patient you can be! Sitting, listening, sticking, listening... meanwhile nibbling and drinking water! 

My treasure, everthing is so much more fun because of you!  Love you sooooo!

Miss L. slept the whole afternoon. In the evening, when mama had to work she was rested and so daddy had to entertain our two darlings (Mama is doing gymnastics with a pregnant woman every wednesday). 

For a few days Lina is screaming like crazy. I think she recognized her own voice and wants to hear it unceasingly. It´s so funny to hear it but after some time you get nearly earache! My sweetie is such a big girl already. Chating, flirting, laughing... she is so much delight! 

Princess, you have such a heartwarming nature! My girl, I love you!

Yeees, Lina you did it! 

While mama was baking a cake in the morning you were excerting and excerting to do the great roll... and suddenly you could! First you were a little bit surprised but then you practiced endlessly! You were so proud because of your new ability!

When I observe you learning so much every single day I feel time is running too fast! 

You are such a cordial litte girl! Now already laughing out loud too! Sometimes I only look at you and make some funny noises and you are giggling very loud! Sooooo cute!

I love you, Honey.... you are my gorgeous little lady! 

Max wants to be more independent in everything he is doing! This starts for example in the morning when mama wants to brush his teeth: "No, Matz!". He dosn´t want to be fed any longer too: "No, Matz!". For breakfast my boy wants his own slice of bread and NOT cut into pieces! Even when we play together Max tells me how to do it right!

It´s lot of delight watching him doing this! Sometimes it´s a bit exhausting too but in the end I could kiss and hug him because he succeds with so much charm and without being nasty or making me nervous!

Happy babies!

It´s very simple to make my boy really, really happy! First to go for a walk and... to discover a tractor. We were walking today with omi and we liked it so much! But it´s not enough to designate it "tractor"... no... it´s a "John Deere", a "Steyr", a "McCormick" and names like that! It´s a riddle to me why he is so much interested in those machines! I love him so much staring at the vehicles! 

Then he wants me to tell him stories what the trac is doing and where it is going and what it is loading and who it is driving and why it is dirty...?????

You are such a sweetheart, I love you, baby!

At present my Miss L. loves to lie on the belly so much because she can achieve her toys already! To turn around from belly to back is no more challenge. To turn around the other way is in practice. I think just a few days to try... It´s so lovely to observe her trying and excerting on and on! 

You are so charming my girl, I could kiss and hug you all the time!

Great Sunday!

In the morning we went for our sunday walk.

My sweet Maxi, 

you don´t want to sit in your buggy anymore. You are able to walk really far without being carried! The most important thing is, to go to your favorite places: to the horse ouple, the stable, check the tractor, searching for cats, dogs or other animals and so on.

While walking through the fields you discovered a very large frozen water-plate. You wanted to run and slide over this place. After stepping on the ice suddenly your feet slipped away... fortunately you didn´t hurt!  Then you were fine to give mama your hand!

It´s incredible to watch you developing into an independent little person. You make your way and when your parents move too far you follow without being told. You watch bugs crawling around, leaves moving in the wind, you comment how much cow muck is stinking... fascinating to observe children observing the little things!

My cute girl was sleeping nearly all the time. When her baby buggy is moving her eyes slam shut. The only thing to see when you take a look into buggy are her cute eyelashes!

Sweet Max and Lina, it´s such a pleasure to spend time with you! You make me smile whenever I look at you! I love your relaxed characters so much!

Sleeping beauties! 

Was no relaxing day for my babies this day! Went shopping whole morning, then picked up omi from the airport, had a very short rest on midday and in the afternoon we visited nice friends with other friends to welcome their sweet babyboy Simon! Stayed there too long. But all children were playing great together and so we had at least a comfortable evening!

So my cuties were sleeping in the car while driving home :-)

Our babies get new styled rooms!

Some time ago we decided to renew the children´s rooms. Before we became parents we painted the rooms in neutrally colours - yellow and green! We will keep Maxis paradise in yellow! It´s a wonderful shiny room and now greatly decorated! He got a new shelf and his bed will be transformed from babybed to a toddler-bed :-)

But because of the fact that we were so lucky to get a sweet princess then, there has to be a "funky-stylish-glamorous-princessstyle-pink-girlie" room! Oooh....yes!!!

So today... we went shopping! Nevertheless some art of persuasion was necessary to move my husband into the big, big furniture house. We bought really awesome stuff! The kids were endlessy relaxed and so were we! 

I think because of the eased day I had the motivation to take pictures this late evening! I exceeded myself photoshooting today! Have got really tons of great, great pics from our nice day together! But I decided not to take the beautiful portraits and stylish poses but instead of this some to tell a little story! So... my prefered ones:

Look daddy, there is a new shelf in it! Bring me the drill press and let´s build it up! He took some wooden piece to show that he wanted to help screwing. He has such a blooming imagination! I love it! Just to tell: he actually had to sleep for over two hours - no sign of tiredness!

Mama and little Miss L. joined them! Lina was very tired but even my babygirl had endlessly perfect mood today! I bathed and breastfeeded her then and she fell asleep within minutes!

My baby Lina,

Mama had a very relaxing day with her two sweethearts. While Max and me were baking cookies my little sunshine Lina was waiting on her activitiy center and looking at us. I had to cuddle her on and on because her expression in the eye was so cute! Sometimes I have the feeling she is staring at her angel!  She lies calmly and has a special look on her face. When I was pregnant with my daughter I used to think that she will be hyperactive and unpatient because she was stepping in my belly like crazy! But nothing: yes, she is moving a lot but my girl has patience over and over and is so balanced!

My boy had a playday with his grandfather - opi Arnold today. In the morning they set up the railway to move the automatic train. I think it´s a delight for both "boys"!

Opi likes to talk with Max in english as well. So they are practicing while playing. Opi asks Max the "vocabulary" and he knows everything. It´s amazing! He knows all of his nearly thirty animals, the fruits in the kitchen, the vegetables, dishes and many other things! 

Max is starting to speak now. It´s so funny to hear that he prefers designating some things in english because it´s much more easier to express than in german.

I´m so proud he is growing up bilingual. I think this will bring lots of advantages for him!

My little cutie Lina had a very normal day today! She loves joining us while playing, eating, talking and so on. Miss L. is observing with her big blue eyes und you can nearly watch her learning! After some time she becomes hungry or feels wet and then she announces herself. Contently she falls asleep. She is so very easy to handle!

  
Hope to have a more exciting day tomorrow! At least we will go outside to breethe some fresh air instead of staying in the house settling the household! Just enough of those very normal pics of my darlings being taken while playing!

At the hairdresser

We had an appointment at the hairdresser´s with Max today! Fortunately he likes to go there. Before we started,  Max and me looked at his photo album where I already collected pics from previous visits! He recognized Veronica at once and was looking forward to getting some sweets from her! Max was totally in agreement to go there!

I had this idea long time ago: every time when we had to go anywhere I don´t know if Max would like it, I show him pictures at home and explain that we had been there already. This worked when going to the doctor´s, visiting people he dosn´t meet very often, meeting Santa Claus in the nearest shop, going to the baby´s swimming course and so on...

Then he always knew what´s going on and I never had any trouble with him not cooperating. 

My good boy, everything we experience together - fun or obligation - is so delightful because of your character! I love you, honey!

Sweet Miss L.,

In the morning we had to get new passports for you and Max. At first we had to take new pictures. This wasn´t easy with you sweet Lina because you were smiling all the time. The photographer showed you some toys and you were laughing out loud! I could eat you! But at the end we got a very nice one with only a little smile!

The evening was the first step into your "grown up baby time".  You took your first bath together with your brother in the big bath tub. This was so much fun! Thank God, Mama never took care of rinsing water over your little face! Was just good for you today! Indeed Max was squirting water everywhere! 

Naturally he wanted to help you washing! Cute! Sweetheart, you have such a confidence! Never approximately bad mood! Love you like crazy my perfect girl!

Normally I´m writing about our day in the evening when I took tons of pictures and we have experienced some nice things together. But today it´s different. I´m already telling the children´s story in the morning :-)

My little toddler Max,

at present you cannot stand sitting at the kitchen table eating. You love walking around, playing and even running around the eating place. Mama is trying to catch you for taking some food. It´s a little bit funny. So when I was pregnant with my sweet boy I had some concretly imaginations about education. Some points were:  my kids will get sweets very seldom, they are not allowed to run around while eating, I don´t want them to watch tv or play with computers... yes... things like that. 

So, now we are at the point: Max often gets sweets (sometimes I give him for being quiet), he is running around while being followed by mama with a spoon, I want him to watch tv so I can have some time for my computer and finally Max has his own i-pod. Why do we have certain conceptions about how we will educate our kids? It´s nearly impossible to keep!

Okay... that was part of the explanation for the today´s picture. Max is on his play carpet joined by his litte sister. Mama was giving him pieces of a roll with jam time after time.  In the meantime he was moving his tractors and repairing his cars. 

That was the moment I captured the pics. Brother Max was explaining to Miss L. how to change the wheels of a Ferrari with a drill press. She took it and made a sound with the drill press. Max was so proud of her and kissed her again and again. I could cuddle him and thank him so much for being so lovely to her.

Sweet Miss L.,

you are so lucky to have a brother like Max. He is never jealous, he is kissing and protecting you, although he is only 2! I´m sure you will honour that when you grew up! You are such a fine girl too and I´m sure you both will love each other a lifetime!

We had a really variedly day today! 

In the morning Max went for a walk with his daddy again. For Max it is important to do the same things again and again. There is no sign that he gets bored of doing this. At first they give some food to the birds, then they go to the near stable searching for horses, cows and tractors. Afterwards our cutie wants to see where the fishes, the ducks and goats are. It is awesome to watch the little guy going his straight way and not wanted to be diverted.

But in winter he is very disappointed because there are no more nuts to find and in autum he is not happy because there are no more strawberries in the fields! So we always have to take some nuts and fruits with us when going for a walk. Then Max is happy! 

To Max: " What´s your name?" "Matz!" "What is Max?" "Happy!" Just to explain: Max is talking german but more and more he is getting better in talking english. I love it! It´s so sweet !

Afterwards daddy and son were reading books and having fun together! I love it watching them talking to each other when being unobserved!

Outside was windy and unfriendly weather. So mama and Lina had a fine warm time together inside. Because of the fact that it is sunday mama is not doing any housework today. 

You are such a sweetheart my little Miss L.! Nevertheless you were a bit grumpy today :-( I hope that there are no teeth announcing themselves! But when my children are in really bad mood  I always blame it on other things: the teeth, the moon, bad weather or something like that. In principle it´s not my kid!

Is not the most beautiful picture of mama but daddy was taking it without warning. Mama was singing and dancing with her treasure! She was trying to find sleep like crazy! Poor girl <3

In the afternoon friends of us were visiting us with their little daughter Mia. Max was looking forward to seeing them... our new word for today: "Mia!". They were playing with each other in such a fine and quiet way. A recovery for the parents :-)
